So which don't you get?
This post from AMERICABlog caught my eye yesterday. In comments about a story on Iran, we hear that:
Love the theocrats in the US. Hate the theocrats in Iran. That's the motto of the Bush administration.
Meanwhile, when you read the actual story, you notice that the words "theocrat," and "theocracy," are demonstrably absent. In fact, what you read is a fairly straight-forward account of what bothers the Bush administration about Iran, and some of their current strategies to deal with it.
I was just left wondering what exactly the reference to theocrats is all about. Secondly, I then wondered what it is Joe in DC doesn't quite get; theocracy or American Christianity that he so derisively refers to. As I'm sure it would come as a shock to Mr. Sudbay, they are quite different things.
You'd think a blog powered by "a Washington DC-based writer and political consultant, specializing in using the Internet for political advocacy," and "a DC-based political consultant with over twenty years of experience at both the state and federal level," would be a bit more substantive on points like this.
