The Earth is spinning off it's axis

Matt Dillon receives an Oscar nomination for his role in the film Crash...can the apocalypse be far behind?

While I must freely admit that this commentary is not based on any knowledge of his performance--we have not seen the film--though it is based on twenty-plus years of watching Matt Dillon performances here and there.

Honestly, can anyone who ever saw this, this or this be faulted for that incredulous look on their face upon reading the list of nominations?
