Of local interest

Santa Barbara County has seen some unfortunate goings-on of late; first a pair of known drug-abusers wake up and discover they've killed their weeks-old twin daughters and Monday night a former employee of the USPS sorting facility in Goleta snuck her way into the building and shot as many as 8 people, at the end of which she killed herself. As this report indicates, two of the dead were residents of Lompoc.

Jennifer Sanmarco, a former employee at the facility had been on disability leave, came back to the facility just as the late shift began on Monday evening and attacked, seemingly, the first employees she ran into.

Reports filed today indicate that the death toll is higher than initially reported; Sanmarco's neighbor Beverly Graham it is believed, was shot before Sanmarco drove over to the sorting facility:

The body of 54-year-old Beverly Graham was discovered at a condominium complex where former postal employee Jennifer San Marco once lived. Santa Barbara Sheriff's deputies believe Graham was shot by San Marco on Monday evening. Graham died from a gunshot wound to the head.

Additionally, Charlotte Colton--another Postal worker who was shot on Monday night--was pronounced dead at 7:30 AM this morning at Cottage Hospital.

If we ever get to understanding the motive, I wonder what we'll think.
