Oddity of the Week

I wish to extend to James Joyner my sympathies (or is it empathy; in this case probably both), as I suffer from the same affliction:

I am cursed with the worst possible combination of beard growth: Fairly sensitive skin, a very tough beard in places, and yet enough bare spots that I really can't grow a decent beard.

How this is possible when my own father grew enough of a beard to be mistaken for a rabbi at times still escapes me 25 years later.
