On the road to Nowhere

The Senate voted against its own immigration bill this morning:

Agreement over a highly touted Senate compromise on illegal immigration fell apart Friday as lawmakers lashed out at each over who was to blame for the present impasse over the bill.
Senators said their work on the controversial issue would now be postponed until after Congress returns from the two-week recess.

Normally I’d complain about how the Republican majority is inept at accomplishing anything, but this bill was so bad I’m more than happy to see it die a thousand deaths in the Senate.
