Soul Crushing
Somewhere between dinner and finally arriving home last night from my travels to So Cal at 10:20 P.M., I caught a cold. Or something eerily similar.
We should both be at a meeting this morning over at the church, but I because I slept poorly and don't feel well am sitting at home slobbing it this morning. I just finished watching this after stumbling across it on HBO.
The segment on the '86 World Series collapse is utterly soul-crushing. It's funny to hear in retrospect, with one fans story of getting his son out of bed for the bottom half of the 10th inning--saying, "Sit here son, and watch something that nobody's seen for 70 years!"--the most poignant moment of all (though at the time the young father feared what he'd done to his boy's young psyche).
