Missed
I discovered today that our newest salesperson spent some time living in Phoenix in the '90s. We started a conversation about both the merits and drawbacks of our former home-town.
That and these have me feeling a bit sad--some of our favorite shared memories about our time in the Desert include monsoon summer storms. Most times a storm comes rolling into the Valley it seemed that it saved it's worst in terms of wind and rain damage for the East Valley cities.
In the West Valley we generally got a great lightning show and some winds. Only during the one or two truly large storms would Glendale and the rest of the West Valley cities see the triple whammy of the monsoons--lightning, strong winds and torrential downpours.
Stormy nights meant turning off the air and sitting inside--even briefly--or even out on the patio enjoying the cooler-by-twenty-degrees temperatures and soaking in the smells of fresh rainfall.
I miss it.
Well, maybe not so much.
