Obligatory Sports Post
Wife and I got invited to last night's Diamondback-Giant game by friends. She was the recipient of management's season-seats and offered a pair to us. Didn't even have to think about it; who would refuse freebies on the field?
Notes in no specific order:
-Jason Ellison is a train-wreck in the outfield. SF my like his bat, and I can see why, but my Lord! It's like watching David Justice or Ron Gant trying to flag down deep fly balls but worse. Ellison butchered Louis Terrerro's double to right center in the bottom of the 2nd. He and Alou had to play it off the fence and it took two swipes for Ellison to come up with the ball cleanly. Thankfully for Reuter, C Chris Snyder popped out to Matheny and P Brad Halsey hit a weak grounder to end the inning.
-There's a reason Omar Vizquel is considered one of the best defensive short-stops of the last decade. Three diving stops, all resulting in outs. He saved the best for last: he snagged Snyder's grounder but could only get up on one knee. Still made the throw accurately and in time.
-Drunk fans are no fun.
