"...In my beautiful Balloon!"

We celebrated our seventh anniversary on Monday. Every year that we've been married but for one, we've made a point of going somewhere to commemorate the blessed event. This year for the first time since 2000, we went to NorCal.

Two years ago my mother-in-law had a wild hair and decided that her daughter--who absolutely hates to fly--and I would enjoy a balloon ride. For our anniversary and in part for my wife's birthday 2 weeks later, we received a "gift certificate" for a balloon ride.



At the time I thought she'd lost her head. My wife hates flying in an airplane when there's a ceiling over her head and two walls on each side of her. Frankly, I love to fly but also when I'm covered by a ceiling and held in by two walls.We sat on this thing for nearly two years before finally sucking it up and taking the plunge. I must say, in the last week I've wondered what the big deal was.

We had a blast!
