Point, Counter-point

Monday
This was an above-the-fold story Monday. I didn't discuss it because I just didn't have the mental energy to bother with it, aside from making a mental note that it's the third such negative-life-as-we-know-it-is-about-to-end story to appear above the fold on the Republic's front page in as many days.

Tuesday
Rick in Surprise wasn't quite as ready to let it go. His letter to the editor today reads:

Regarding the headline Monday: "U.S. death toll tops 1,700":

Maybe tomorrow's headline could read: "U.S. death toll remains at 0."And the subhead could read: "Not one U.S. citizen has died from terrorist attacks on America's soil since Bush declared war on terrorism."

Wednesday
So much for that idea...
