Rain, rain, go away...No, really...
It started raining last Friday afternoon here in New York. It is still raining. Eight straight days. I guess that leaves us with only thirty-two to go. Hopefully someone, somewhere is building an ark in response to this global-warming induced weather anomaly.
But when I say raining, I don't mean drizzle. I don't mean light rain. I don't mean showers. I mean dumping. Downpours. The kind which might even rival some Arizona monsoons. For example, we received over four inches of rain on Wednesday alone. The crackling sound of rain splattering the street and sidewalks beneath my window has replaced the sound of the local denizens yelling big ups to their pals across the street at the grocery store as the most common sound wafting through my windows. I suppose in that respect, the rain is welcome. And it's also welcome due to the fact that it is coming on the heels of a two month drought. We needed the rain.
But I must demand that it stop. It's killing me psychically. Sunshine please. Just a day. That's all I'm asking.
