Well this explains a lot

I've spent a good deal of time wondering why Joe Wilson (and others) thinks he is such an American hero for challenging the president's case for war, after the deployment of American troops to Iraq. Today I came across a possible explanation:

Some in the audience urged him to run for political office. But Wilson said he'd been a true child of the 1960s and had ``too many wives and taken too many drugs. And, yes, I did inhale.''
