All Growed up

"Boyishly" good looking in previous roles, I have to say that after seeing Leonardo in Scorsese's latest last night, the boy has growed up. And boy how.

Seedy doesn't begin to describe the movie. Yet for all the blood and bad behavior it's intrigue and blindsides are interesting and compelling.

It's similar in at least one respect to a certain other DiCaprio project. When asked at the time why I never bothered to see Titanic in a theater, I quipped that I already knew how the story ended: "Boat sinks...everybody dies," I would say. Why then do I need to sit through 3+ hours of romantic schlock?

Well, there's no boat this time around but pretty much near everybody ends up dying alright!
