Just not good

Mea-culpa time: the Dodgers stink.

Last night's Cubs-Dodgers game was televised at ESPN2 last night, so I caught as much as my pressing duties at home would allow. My thoughts, in no real order:

--How does 3B Antonio Perez get to the majors without knowing how to conduct a run down between 2nd and 3rd? Hint: getting stuck having to dive at the runner while both the SS and 2B watch is not textbook. Suddenly it was like I was sitting in my living room during the '83 playoffs, watching the Dodger defense hand the NL pennant to the Phillies.

--Why is Duaner Sanchez pitching to Derek Lee with two out in the 8th inning of a one-run game after he's already gone 4-for-4? Has anyone seen Jim Tracy's brain...
