Speaking in Platitudes

The only thing worse than people who speak in Talking Points, is people who speak in Platitudes. Most often this particular affliction manifests itself in the ever-annoying political bumper sticker.

With my wife and mother-in-law in town for the week and only one car, my wife and I have taken to driving into my office together every morning. This gets me where I need to be and allows them freedom to run errands and take care of things they need to take care of during the day.

This morning we ran into a Platitude-talker. He appeared to be a 20-something male driving a Dodge Stratus. His politics apparently mean more to him than his car, because he had several ridiculous stickers plastered on the back of it.

What caught my eye was the one he had plastered smack-dab in the middle of the hatch: "George W. Bush is a punk ass Chump,"…alrighty then.

My wife's favorite was this anti-war nugget: "An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind."

Talk about deep.
