Rant II

Another thing that is driving me crazy: this is not all about New Orleans. This disaster also affects broad swaths of Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. While New Orleans is a major city trying to cope with the effects of Katrina, it will eventually stabilize. Troops and supplies will be there.

However, there are remote areas in the surrounding region that will not be getting any immediate attention or certainly not sufficient attention. I hypothesize that longer-term, these will be the more heartbreaking stories.
