Rant III

There are many who argue that the U.S. military is a bloated, unnecessary cost. They often point to our defense budget in comparison to those of other nations. They cite the statistic that we spend more on defense than the next 30 largest militaries around the world. Ironically, these are the same folks who are playing the Iraq vs. Katrina canard and wondering aloud why there aren't more National Guardsmen on the ground. They are also the same people who argued that we didn't do enough to aid tsunami victims because the U.N. was doing the "heavy lifting."

Yeah. It was our military logistics folks who were the first on the ground in Banda Aceh. But our military is unwieldly.

There are logic breakdowns nested within logic breakdowns in the minds of these perpetual contrarians. As such, there's literally no incentive for engaging them.
