Not all Reality is created equal!

So says VH-1 in it's promos for all it's reality-shows. Yes, sad-but-true, VH-1 is in the reality show business. I did not know this until yesterday.

My wife did not work yesterday, so by the time I got home it was the female-equivalent of "Miller time." With her work done, she was sitting on the couch watching the entire 2nd-cycle of UPN's America's Next Top Model. No, I'm not kidding.

As we went through our usual early-evening rituals, we left it on. Because of course we must know what happened to Shandi after she shamelessly cheated on her boyfriend with some Italian hunk; and we must know whether or not Yoanna's metamorphosis from caterpillar to butterfly is complete or gets short-circuited by the meanie Fashion-judges...I have to know!

At least once in every commercial break we were treated to network promos for upcoming reality series. "Not all Reality is created equal!" screams my TV; and boy they aint kidding.

What do we have to look forward to? By my count two "all new" shows. My impression's?

Well, first off we have The Osbournes meets the WWF. Why would I care about Hulk Hogan's family? I can't tell you and the promo does nothing to convince either. Seems the only reason to watch might be the hope that Hulkster gets to break one of daughter Brooke's suitors in half. In a word: Yawn.

Next, we get The Biggest Celebrity Loser. This we would watch just for the laugh factor. I mean, the specter of Jackee, Gary Busey and the Snapple-lady on the treadmill and tossing medicine-balls is compelling. In a train-wreck sort of way.

This all begs for a couple of, at least in my mind, simple observations:

1) Not all Reality is created equal! True, true; some is much stupider than others.

2) Mark Burnett needs to pay!
